Sophia and Letters

Sophia is eating some alphabet cookies and asking me what letter is on each cookie. I told her that's a "U". She says "me?" "No baby that's a letter U". "letter me? Mommy?" "No Sophia the letter is a U. " OH Mommy a ME! "

Haha I give up!

Some pictures for fun😜

Sophia Elizabeth - 6 months

Half a year has gone by with this sweet girl in our life. Oh how we adore her and she adores her brothers! It's wonderful to see their love for each other. Here's what she is up to lately:

-weighs 18 lbs 9 oz, 27" long and head circumference is 16.75cm. Height and weight is 90% and head is 75%
-wears size 3 diapers, 12 month clothes
-nurses 5 times a day and once in the night.
-won't take a bottle very well. I have tried about 6 or 7 different bottles and nipples and had luck with Playtex once!
-getting curious about real food - she's taken my bacon from my hand and sucked on it!
-tried rice cereal, bananas, avocado, apple/sweet potato blend and mum mums. Will only eat a tiny amount

-can pivot on tummy
-turn over from back to tummy
-reaches and grabs everything and it goes straight to her mouth
-can sit up unsupported but falls over if she reaches for something

- Smiles, squeals and laughs when she sees her brothers from afar and does the same with Roxie
-has ticklish thighs
-likes to play with toys with buttons that make noise
-loves to reach up and play with/pull my hair when nursing or hold my necklace
-likes to be outside
-pats/bats things
-loves to jump in doorway bouncer
-snuggles in my neck when she gets shy
-watches me while someone else is holding her and gets upset if I'm out to sight
-doesn't like to be left alone on playmat or other baby toy for even the smallest amount of time - makes bathroom trips hard! She just likes to be around all of us
-loves to see Roxie and squeals in excitement when she gets close

I cut about an inch and half of her hair on her neckline that was getting scraggly looking. She's rubbed a little spot off the back of her head and in hoping this little trim will help it grow in a little more evenly.

Sophia had brought so much girly happiness to our lives and as Santiago says - It feels like she had been out of my tummy for a million years. We can't imagine life without this happy little girl. She is all smiles most of the time!

Sophia Elizabeth - 5 Months Old

On October 4th, Sophia turned five months old. It's amazing how fast time goes with baby number 3. We are so busy lately and always seem to be on the run and she is just a blessing to have around. She goes with the flow and stays happy most of the time. She only really cries if she is extremely tired or hungry. Everyone she meets say how smiley and happy she is!

Here's what she has learned this last month:
- wears size 3 diapers and 6-9 month clothes. She can fit in some 12 months as well
-flips from back to tummy and loves tummy time.
- can pivot around to look at toys while in tummy
-tries to pull her self up sit up style when lying on her back
-getting close to being able to sit up unsupported.
-laughs and smiles a lot - especially when her brothers are interacting with her
-reaches and grabs toys
-puts everything in her mouth
-sucks and gnaws on fingers, blankets, toys, etc

-has curly hair when wet or humid outside
-her hair gets in tiny knots on the back of her head and is rubbing off
-her eyes look like they may be turning hazel like mine but it's still hard to tell. They are definitely lighter than the boys' eyes
-loves to play in the exersaucer and can turn her self completely around in it.
-loves to jump in the doorway bouncer

Sophia Elizabeth Ornelas

On May 4th, we welcomed our Sophia Elizabeth into our lives with open arms. She was 3 weeks (20 days) early but perfectly healthy! I'm in the process of writing her birth story so that will come later :). Here's some pictures that were taken by the hospital photographer on the day we were discharged.

My mom made the dress she is wearing and it is just precious. It has a beautiful hat that matches but it is a little big for my tiny girl right now.

You can see the purple coloring on her face and she is also swollen. We had a rough delivery that caused her face to swell and bruise but with each day it is looking better and better and going away! The nurses and doctor who delivered her nicknamed her "Rocky"!

We are so in love!
