Happy Halloween

I'm really late writing about our Halloween but I guess it's always better late than never!  We went to the pumpkin patch last weekend and picked out our pumpkin.  We saved the carving until the day of Halloween.  Santiago had a lot of fun sitting on the front porch in nothing but a diaper helping me pull out all the insides of the pumpkin.  I can't believe it is still warm enough at the end of October to go without clothes!

Santi tasted the pumpkin gooey stuff and didn't like it! It was funny though!
Soon after we finished carving, it was time to get all dressed up to go trick-or-treating.  Here is a picture of Santi's monkey costume that he helped pick out a few weeks ago.  We were shopping in Toys R Us and looking at the costumes and he grabbed this one, hugged it, and started making his "ooh ooh ah" monkey noise.  When I asked him if he wanted to be a monkey for Halloween - he replied "Yees" and that was that.  Easy to pick out a costume when he knows exactly what he likes!
We went to our friend's neighborhood down the street to go trick or treating with their kids.  We only went to a few houses before heading back to our neighborhood to visit Dah and Nana.  Sorry the pictures are not great quality....we lost our good camera the night before Halloween so we had to take these with our phone camera.
Santi really enjoyed following all the other kids dressed up and walking with Daddy or me to the doors to get the candy. If they let him pick a candy for himself, Santi knew exactly what to do - put it in his pumpkin bucket and head to the next house! He even said his version of "thank you" in sign language to a few people without me having to prompt him.

He got a little scared when two kids at different occasions came to trick or treat at Nana and Dah's house.  He didn't like their scary masks - he freaked out just a little bit and cuddled with his momma! Overall, our little monkey had a very fun Halloween!
