23 Months

One more month and Santiago will be 2!  Crazy!  So I missed last month's posting and I really feel bad for looking back purposes but we had a lot going on and I just have not been able to find the time to blog.  I will try my best to get back in the swing of things : )

Santiago is such an amazing little boy and he just lights up our lives!  He has grown and changed so much in the last few weeks it is just amazing.  Every day a new word is spoken or he does something that just surprises us.  He is so much fun!
Here's some of his latest and greatest:
  • weighs 33-34 pounds and is 2 feet 11.5 inches tall or 35.5 inches.
  • Wears 3T clothes and size 9 shoe and size 5 diaper
  • Had a great check up with Dr. T after I was a little concerned about a bump on his temple area that was not going away....we found out that it's a screw that is working on dissolving after his second surgery which can take up to 18 months to fully dissolve.  Overall - Dr. T is very pleased with Santiago's results from surgery and we don't have to go back until the end of the summer unless we feel it is necessary to go in
  • speaks in short sentences
  • repeats himself like a broken record sometimes - especially when he is excited
  • says a new word or phrase every day
  • loves to read books and is always very attentive to the entire story
  • randomly gives hugs and kisses
  • wants his bo-bo's kissed whenever he gets hurt or thinks he is hurt
  • goes to sleep at night by himself - I don't have to stay in the room anymore!  We take a bath, eat a snack, brush teeth, read at least 2 books, say our prayers and then Hector puts him into the crib.  Santi lays down and I sing him a lullaby "Captain Curly Head" and kiss him, turn out the light and leave the room while closing the door.
  • Sings me a lullaby too sometimes that goes like this - Lullaby, lullaby OH Momma lullaby!  (He can say lullaby perfectly clear too)
  • Loves Roxie (he calls her Yocksul) - he hugs her, pets her, sits next to her, covers her with blankets and feeds her - they are best friends
  • Had a blast opening Christmas gifts
  • Plays independently with his toys or inside the fridge
  • Rides his Mickey Mouse train car around the house for the longest periods of time - he loves to "Ride ChooChoo"
  • calls lots of things "my or mine"
  • starting to pronouce more final sounds of words - especially words that end in /d/ or /t/
  • Loves to watch Elmo and Pocoyo on You Tube on the Ipad
  • Loves to play games on the Ipad
  • Knows his colors and loves to point out different colors when we are in stores and in the house
  • Can say his aunt's name now - Bianca - it's no longer - Zah!
  • Tells us when he doesn't like something by saying "baaaaad" whether its food or a book or a toy, etc.
  •  thinks the baby is right inside my belly button and wants to say hi to him/her and kiss the belly button
OH and that brings me to some big news....We are expecting baby #2 on July 22nd!
