Destin Family Vacation

We just returned from a wonderful family vacation to Destin, Florida. It was so much fun to have the McLane's, Trevino's and Ornelas' all in one place for a few days. My parents rented a three bedroom condo for us to stay in right on the beach. We even all got to fly together! Travis, Hector, the boys and myself got on the same plane as my parents and my sister's family because they had to stop here in Houston on the way to Florida. It made for a really fun beginning of our family vacation together!
We stayed from Friday night to Tuesday afternoon. Hector was only able to stay until Sunday because he had to get back for work on Monday. We ate at fabulous restaurants including Ruth's Chris where we lucked out and got our own private room since we had such a big crew. We also ate at Pompano Joe's and Maguire's Irish Pub. We ate very well there....so many delicious places and lots of yummy seafood!
Every day Alli and I woke up early with our kids and it was nice to have some special tine just with her and our cuties. After everyone else woke up, we would have breakfast and then head down to the beach to play for hours. We ate lunch most days at the Sand Bar that was part of our resort. Great hamburgers!

The turquoise blue water and the white sandy beach was a little piece of heaven. We all had so much fun playing in the water, building sand castles and walking and relaxing on the beach.

Santiago and Blake were fun to watch. They had the best time. Santi was fearless in the water. He loved every bit if it! Blake was a little cautious at first but by the end of the trip she was splashing away in the water too! When we were inside, the two of them played really well together but there seemed to be a little competition between them! They each wanted the chair the other was sitting in, Santi wanted Blake's monkey all the time, and we heard "mine" a lot from the two if them. We also heard "shoo" when they wanted the other to leave them around. Santi taught Blake that one! They have such different but great personalities! My boy is loud and playful and Blake is more quiet and sensitive. I can't wait to see how Easton and Gabriel turn out and how the four of them interact.

The two babies did extremely well on the beach vacation as well. It was wonderful to have so much help around. Easton is the happiest baby and he started to crawl on our trip. Gabriel was a trooper and spent a lot of time in my Maya Wrap. I learned how to wear him a couple of new ways and having the wrap was extremely helpful. I love that thing!
All in all this vacation was a blast and I'm extremely thankful for our time as a family together in such a wonderful place. Santiago wants to go back one day and so do I! Destin is the perfect beach vacation spot!
