Watch out Evil Knievel you have competition coming your way! It is absolutely amazing how much Santiago has changed in the last few weeks. I'm willing to bet that he will be walking by Christmas and if you know me - I'm not a betting kind of girl. Santiago began crawling just about 3 weeks ago and he pulling up just about the same time. He really loves to stand and he has pride written all over his face when he accomplishes something new. His crawling has changed from a funny little crawl where he was on one knee, the other foot and his two hands to all fours and now he can boogie really fast wherever he wants to go by crawling. Yesterday he crawled from the kitchen to his bedroom in just a couple minutes. His wobbly stance that he started a few weeks ago has improved a lot and now he can cruise around furniture, hold on with one hand and bend over to pick something off the ground, and can stand unsupported for a good while. A couple days ago he began experimenting by pulling up and then holding his arms in the air like he was making the "touchdown" signal and then quickly grabbing back on to the furniture or your body. Now he will let go of you and just stand there with a smile on his face. It won't be long until he tried his first unsupported steps. He loves to hold on to your hands and walk so I know he will be trying on his own real soon.
More spaghetti please!! Santiago has not been very interested in his baby food lately and wants to eat whatever we are eating so I am being a little more brave and letting him try more foods. We made spaghetti with meat sauce the other day and I took out some of the ground beef before I added the sauce to it for Santi and gave him some wheat noodles with it to eat. He loved it so much that noodles ended up stuck to his face and in his hair!
Grandma Linda and Grandpa Hector had to take Santiago to the pediatrician for me today because his ear is still bothering him. Thank you! We found out that his ear infection is still there in his right ear. When he went for his 9 month check up we discovered his first ear infection and were given a round of antibiotics. His loss of appetite or interest in his solid foods are a result of him still having an infection in his ear. So he is starting a new kind of antibiotic today and hopefully this one will clear up the infection so he can feel better.
Go Santi Go!! I feel for you with the ear infection. It's not fun for baby or mommy! Feel better soon!
